Sprinkle in awareness and you are basically spawning an epidemic. I sometimes wish it wasn't the case, honestly distribution and awareness often beats quality of product. If only late capitalism was in fact a meritocracy <snorts>

True, it is a subjective thing. Perhaps quality is the wrong word. At the risk of sounding archaic, and/or full of misplaced idealism (or just self importance). Quality is probably the wrong word. We seem to live in a reality of hyperstition and a reach the old gods could barely conceive, where a shitty 'hot or not' app can end up deciding elections and shaping brains of generations. What we make doesn't necessarily need 'quality' but it does need an awareness of how powerful it might be. Or rather, we are at the very warm/too hot stage of our frog in a pot era. Distribution and the ability to build entered a hyper-nuclear stage within my memory, we have gone from flint hit fire to beyond nuclear in living memory. Wee think in whole numbers while our influence is in quantum float point. I am not sure I or anyone can identify real quality.. Sorry, confused rant. Basically we make short-term self interested things (old paradigm), yet the tools are new paradigm, and I am pretty sure thats how bad shit happens.
