Heraclitus: “you never step in the same river twice” The alternative is every question is different and every ancestor; every human fundamentally have wrestled with questions that were unique only to them and are not transmutable over different humans

Here’s a random idea: The institutions, those in power, the terms we use to describe our relationships, they change over the course of history, our ancestors had different world views and different perspectives What if the questions we wrestle with day to day haven’t fundamentally changed that much a priori?

Depending on level of abstraction you’re talking, Whitehead’s quip that “all philosophy is footnotes to Plato” is hard to escape. To me,the developments with metaphysical consequence are What is God, given fact of evolution? (Nietzsche) What is human intellect, given the fact of reasoning of machines? (TBD)

Philosophically our ancestors did wrestle with existentialism but maybe it was a smaller more privileged group given the wrungs of Mazlowe’s Hierarchy I’d say a new construct of today is retirement
