You still need to account for sewer & water but you can build a small, even shared, utility cabin but have the "living" and "sleeping" space suspended in the trees

Interesting.

I've looked at luxury treehouses for a while. Love the concept but paying cash or financing as a depreciating asset doesn't make business sense to me. 

This could be a good alternative option

Downsides are all the downsides of a new technology, but perhaps that's just where I like to operate lol
