this is awesome. a simple way promote things and earn. not sure how much you can differentiate the criteria for eligibility, but this is an awesome start. maybe getting more channel specific, you could even break it down to top casters in channel to reach a certain audience.. love it!

We have to have more than 10K followers? Kind of the same issue we had in the past of only the big getting bigger. It’s the less known artists that need the promotion rather than the big fish. An active badge & >1K followers is a good medium Would love to try this but guess gonna need another 9K followers :(

Interesting idea. I'd limit it to quoted casts with the phrase "promoted cast". Transparency when something is promoted is important.

The cold-start problems you mention in the frame would still exist. The bigger following profiles will just get bigger. I’d challenge the platforms on top of Farcaster to find ways for people to build authentic communities and algorithms that support what users see and incentivising engagement that way.

I think it's definitely viable on its own. conversely, poor curation or sybil attacks might disqualify promoters by follower exodus or requirement creep. in the middle, though, I wonder if a negative signal might be necessary to counter any well-funded ambivalent campaign.

I really love the concept, it’s a true way to curate and boost high value signals. That said, I’d be worried about “followers” as the metric. Followers does not = boosted signal (though it can) Also, the people who need more support/money are usually smaller creators. Word of mouth is powerful as is
