The image below is the Trillemma triangle in blockchain. There are 3 problems that a blockchain needs to solve: 
- Decentralization
- Security
- Scalability

Most current blockchains only achieve a maximum of 2/3 of the above problems. The most understandable example is Bitcoin, which is decentralized and extremely secure, but it is not scalable (low speed). 

Back to the problem of Pi Network. When the mainnet opens, #PiCoreTeam will definitely have to choose community nodes to run the Pi blockchain infrastructure. 
If PCT chooses all (currently about 200k nodes), it will ensure decentralization, but the scalability (speed) of the network will be low.  Choosing a part of the current node will reduce decentralization, but the network will be faster and more scalable...

Anyone who is running #PiNode should actively contribute, the choice or not is up to the PCT 😚
