Timeboost is a new transaction ordering design/policy we have been studying for a while. It resembles an execution auction where the winner gains fast lane access instead of re-ordering right. I'm curious to hear anyone's feedback. https://forum.arbitrum.foundation/t/constitutional-aip-proposal-to-adopt-timeboost-a-new-transaction-ordering-policy/25167

Why not VCG auction (truthful for multi-slot) instead of second pricing?

Iā€™m not very familiar with VCG, but I looked it up. It seems similar to a VCG auction with just one winner for one item. Only one winner can control the fast lane anyway. The first-price winner pays the second-highest bid. Each round is an independent auction. Round 1 starts, and the winner of round 2 is declared before round 2 starts, and so on.

Ah ok I misundertstood the proposal then. Yes VCG is equivalent to second-price for a single winner auction.
