Buterin offers to reduce the threshold of the input for stakeing from 32th to 16-24 ETH.

On Twitter, he wrote that 32 ETH is a large barrier, and suggested increasing the requirements for the throughput in exchange for reducing the minimum deposit for stakeing.

This will positively affect the scale of the network. He also noted that in the future the minimum deposit can decrease to 1 ETH.

Let me remind you that each user can become a validator of the Ethereum network. This requires 32 ETH. If the entrance threshold decreases, more users will be able to participate in support of the network and receive rewards for processing transactions.
