A question that gets right to the core of art 🎯

Until now, I’ve decided to prioritize learning as my North Star in art. So as long as I’m learning from what I’m doing, I call that success. 

Feedback from others is part of that, but it reduces the dependence on their approval. 

Yet it also fires up my desire to keep creating and experimenting and expressing myself.

Answering this question, I’m also very curious about the answers from others!

Really appreciate the follow up thoughts and questions, thank you! Totally agree there's inherent tension between inner curiosity and external feedback. 

For me placing learning as the North Star means I'm starting with the curiosity, though with feedback as guardrails from becoming disconnected. So I would describe it as unbalanced, with the emphasis on exploring.

I'm working on a new collection, but it's still super raw and needs more refinement before sharing. In the meantime, I've been enjoying sharing curation experiments: starting the /wabisabi channel this weekend, curating specific themes with view art like this example https://view.art/glowstick

I love that learning is your North Star in art. It’s such a powerful way to stay motivated and open to growth. I completely relate to the idea of balancing feedback with self-guided exploration. 

How do you ensure that feedback fuels your creativity without becoming a source of external pressure? 

For me, the challenge is always keeping that inner curiosity alive while navigating the expectations of others.
