Many merchants pay 2-4% in fees to accept credit cards. You as the consumer are paying this fee one way or another in the form of higher prices. Merchants can accept USDC on Base for free (subsidized as the true cost is under 1 cent). Let’s fix payments with L2s!

I'm at update the system in DC — in theory this is a nice idea but the execution was poor Scan QR code with CB Wallet (some staff didn't understand how to) Mint NFT Show NFT Order beverage Scan QR code again Sign transaction Wait — for a long time 😴 If the goal is mainstream adoption, this isn't going to work

It seems like the main pro for using USDC as a merchant is saving fees from financial companies (credit cards, stripe, etc) What about as a consumer? People love stacking credit card points and it’s unlikely that merchants will reduce their price by whatever fees saved
