The suffering after death stops with probability 99.99%.
The suffering BEFORE death stops with probability 00.01%.

I think my thoughts on that are that we have no idea if stop suffering after death in this life (regardless of religion). No one really knows if that stops it, so my mindset is one of exhausting all options here before taking that giant risk. honestly, I've found some options do provide some relief. The devil you know.

Agree, death and life both are pointless (as everything in the universe, obviously) but as beings with feelings who are susceptible to suffering it doesn't make any sense choosing one pointless state in which we suffer over the other in which we don't suffer.
