Prediction markets as the new polls? Every Warpcast user has a linked wallet and balance. So you could pin a specific prediction market to the top of a channel, or post in a cast, and allow people to express opinions with microtransactions. @dwr.eth @v

I like this idea! Area we’ve been thinking about is how to make the cast surface area flexible and interactive so you can easily embed onchain actions permissionlessly. An open graph for onchain actions

Similar to Nostr Zaps. Would love to see microtransactions on casts/post and polling features in Warp as a contribution/rev model.

Super cool idea and would certainly increase activity. From a UX standpoint, I'd prefer this to be a toggle feature per channel cc @0xperp

Would love to use such a feature The signing has to be seamless though, if every time you need to bet the wallet opens up and you need to sign, it becomes tedious and you get fatigue (this is how voting in the Purple DAO currently feels, UX is tiring)

There'll be prediction market mini-apps in decentralized social that enable frictionless in-feed prediction markets leveraging the distribution of social. But they won't replace polls altogether; many polls are surveys rather than predictions.

imho markets should be focused on emitting Proof of Good Prediction & prioritizing those who are willing to burn their claim of being a good predictor on an unexpected outcome. I like the interface part a lot, would be really appealing on L2 (or Gnosis Chain)

the phrasing, “express opinions with microtransactions” got me thinking polls without skin the game are bad monetary policy - unlimited supply without any accountability futarchy

People in web3 love prediction markets It’s like the first thing code people try to reimplement with every new stack or technology that comes out Why do you think it hasn’t actually ever hit with users?

There was a thread about this awhile back ago: https://warpcast.com/perceptive.eth/0xcbed7b Where @dwr.eth mentions that they’re regulated… you can only find that reply cast if you search for it, though…

“allow ppl to express opinions with micro txns” a poll structured this way to me sounds more like “forcing ppl to make txns to express opinions”
