Can we implement Zkarma on Farcaster? Zkarma is like Zcash. Zcash transfers money privately from one account to another. But Zkarma would transfer accumulated *likes* privately from one account to another. If we can, it enables the pseudonymous economy. See: https://twitter.com/ATabarrok/status/1400890663386767363

I would say the whole point of karma/likes is that those things are not easily exchangeable for cash, and it's that friction that allows it to have different mechanics.

This could also help bootstrap the network, I think. “Prove” how many followers / impressions you get on Twitter per month, so that it helps your discoverability on farcaster? The toughest thing is rebuilding your social graph from 0. Anything that helps accelerate that rebuild will help all Web3 social.

Why private? Testimonials and reputation scores work best when the *attestation* comes from an identifiable source, at least a wallet address or ENS @shoni.eth deployed a contract on Base implementing this concept as *ERS* *Ethereum Reputation Service*

should be possible with a tornado-like design, with: - an assumption that there is a high enough volume of likes to preserve anonymity set - change for unlimited amount of likes i can give (easy) - change to prevent a double spend on one post (harder) cc @dhadrien.eth @leo21

all the reactions in farcaster are currently public. would be cool to have some kind of a private endorsement proof that hides the endorsers id but reveals selective facts about them

https://github.com/semaphore-protocol/semaphore This is used for anonymous voting on-chain. Getting it to work off-chain, in a eventually consistent consensus model would require changes. Should be possible. Would require a different type of keys than Ed25519 (Ristretto, BLS/BN254).

suspect that gating ‘name creation’ on zkps is a key piece here. Ie create a new account if you can prove X (followers) from an old acct Wen programmatic acct creation gated on zkp @v (think we spoke abt this once)
