Virtuals - once the standout project on Base - is now essentially dead. Yesterday, there were zero new AI agent launches. However, the Virtuals team demonstrated foresight by diversifying their treasury beyond VIRTUAL tokens to include wBTC, preserving their runway and keeping a potential recovery on the table. I still firmly believe AI agents will be one of the breakout use cases for crypto this cycle, but the current frontrunners may not be the ultimate winners.
