Virtuals - once the standout project on Base - is now essentially dead. Yesterday, there were zero new AI agent launches. However, the Virtuals team demonstrated foresight by diversifying their treasury beyond VIRTUAL tokens to include wBTC, preserving their runway and keeping a potential recovery on the table. I still firmly believe AI agents will be one of the breakout use cases for crypto this cycle, but the current frontrunners may not be the ultimate winners.

A crypto driven sell off has happened from January 7th - February 19th. A macro driven sell off has happened from Feb 19th-Today. Really interesting sector and price breakdowns between the two.

@jessepollak @aneri FYI base scan doesn't show pricing for a lot of this new AI agent stuff. Makes it misleading how much is in your base wallet. For example, attaching picture.

While April was student body left, and May was student body right, the reality is that there has been great dispersion in the market over the past 2 months. Picking the right sectors/tokens matters. Downside vs. upside risk return has never been so skewed in crypto land.
