friend DMs you - "ever read this book? i think it's your vibe" book pile already high regardless, you pick it up asap nonetheless does it go to the top - LIFO - or bottom - FIFO? no right or wrong answer but last night i put it to the top and opened it up and was rewarded with art simply, art, unsparing words "It was a freedom and a goodness, a hope and a vigor that he perceived to underlie all the familiar things of his life, which were not free or good or hopeful or vigorous"

A friend's reading recommendation trumps pretty much all else IMHO, and would raise a book to the top of my TBR... it would sit only under anything my wife had brought home from a recent trip... Looks like

Honest answer: Depends on how much I trust that friend’s taste If I think they got good judgment, then top If not, silent pocket veto at the bottom (or maybe never read lol)

Zane Grey writes about life in the American West over 100 years ago. A man, Hare, was discovered dying from exposure in the desert. A large party of Mormons found him, but refused to take him with them because they heard a tough outlaw was hunting a man thought to be a spy. Only one family refuses to abandon him. They make camp and care for him even though they see a party of outlaws moving towards them across the vast distances . He can just barely speak, when the father props him up against a tree out of direct light from the camp fire and tells him to put his arms around a young Navajo girl and hold on.
