If this was you, what would you do? What would you cut to balance this budget? I would probably be moving. That seems like the easiest place to flex that makes a difference

Housing at 38% of wages? Also, budget is $500 over wages? And jeez! Daycare is 28%! No amount of tariffs or federal worker layoffs is going to jumpstart this bleak reality. We need more affordable housing, subsidized daycare and higher wages. Pay people more ffs!

Daycare and housing are the big levers to push here. Not sure the jobs at play but might be room to flex so that there’s less dependence on daycare

I think you’re right about affordable housing and subsidizing daycare. To that I’d add health insurance. Don’t necessarily need higher wages if those are covered. In my experience that chart tracks for daycare for 1 kid, a 2nd kid would totally sink them.
