Would rust fix this? Based on what I saw the error was because of an external file getting read into a struct and then that owing up. Maybe you would be more aware of the failure case and have to handle it but it might still have led to an unrecoverable state.

yes, you are right. it will not entirely fix it. if you can’t catch it during static analysis then your best shot would be to fail early with a graceful error. which is better than panicking

Yeah, feels like this realistically falls to a pipeline issue. The integrity of the file should have been signed and then verified before deployment and potentially they should do signed checking on each endpoint
