I’m seeing a lot of debate about whether Geth users should be made whole in case a bug/exploit leads to mass inactivity leaking/slashing of their nodes. I don’t think that’s even relevant At that point, Ethereum’s credibility as a reliable settlement layer would be dead in the water SWITCH AWAY FROM GETH NOW

And as a corollary, people argue that one can avoid such risks by not staking. In reality, if 80% of all Geth-staked ETH got leaked/slashed, even hodlers will be running for the exits. Yes, the total supply would shrink, but so would the price if the entire project is deemed a failure. So this is a risk to hodlers too
