Throughly enjoying Anthony Bourdain’s Kitchen Confidential. I got it as an audiobook because it was narrated by the author, and it felt like a first-hand testament of the greatness of the author. His storytelling is rambunctious and raw, as I imagine he was himself. I don’t often listen to audiobooks (I find it hard to focus on the content and not be distracted by visual stimuli) but in this case I recommend it.

How do you find it? My experience has been that “serious” audiobooks (last one I listened to on Audible was Schelling’s Strategy of Conflict) put me to sleep pretty fast. Like listening to a multiple-hour dry, academic lecture. In audio format, I have an easier time with lively, experiential books (like Bourdain’s) or fiction

It's really great. Greene writing is entertaining and full of stories. I'd never be able to go through essays or any strictly logical book by simply listening to it. Paper is the best medium for that I leave audiobooks for story-driven narratives, things one could listen to in a firecamp
