.@0xfoobar By subdomains do you mean more specific namespaces, e.g. Farcaster fnames being name.farcaster.eth? My guess is if the root .eth namespace is available it will command higher status and value. https://twitter.com/0xfoobar/status/1687209523239604230

Also wouldn’t the subdomain users always be precarious tenants, and the domain name owner be the all-powerful landlord? I wouldn’t use a subdomain for anything perennial if I had to trust someone else with its ENS records.

Every ENS can be configured so subdomains are fully separated from the root domain. It's a feature of the new namewrapper.
