For that, I assume “true global society” would require a single, borderless world government with fair local representation, no pockets of corruption nor public or private market distortion, no within-group distinction of ethnicity / religion / nationality (the latter being completely abolished), a common native tongue, & actively enforced equal socioeconomic development everywhere (i.e. subsidies where needed to maintain equity); so that access to education, healthcare, and job opportunities was leveled out.
Under that very narrow definition (the utopian nature of it notwithstanding), yes, I imagine the space aspect of the cosmic lottery (where you are born) would become of minor relevance
The “time” (era) aspect would remain, of course, as life opportunities differ across generations / stages of mankind development
Interesting thought experiment for sure. There is a niche cosmopolitan tribe of global citizens today whose professional mobility gives them opportunities beyond their place of origin 1 reply
