I keep thinking of animals (such as pigeons) who experience the world at a higher FPS, i.e. in slow motion / higher temporal resolution relative to us Humans experience this occasionally e.g. when going through an accident / life-threatening situation Is it possible to chemically induce this state of hyper vigilance?

Amphetamines can give this type of quality, but have lots of downsides... usually you'll run up against an organism's set point for these kinds of things. Push out of equilibrium, against the set point, lots of downstream disruptions.

First usage of Tramadol after a long break off it tends to have this subjective effect on me. Maybe 20% improvement? Quite amazing for video games, breezing through situations that would kill me 99% of the time in my baseline state.

Modafinil? I donā€™t think it promotes vigilance in the sense of experiencing world in slow motion, but surely promotes wakefulness.

I donā€™t know, bc thereā€™s drugs like pregabalin that would slow down time perception butā€¦you are also very slow actually šŸ˜… and I think you are asking for something closer to the matrix bullet time / limitless pill as others have mentioned if it exists itā€™s probably under DoD research NDA šŸ„“

I strongly prefer the highest FPS possible for anything from games to movies to regular TV. Low frame rate is basically unwatchable for me, even when others don't notice it all. What's weird is that sometimes, after watching high FPS, real life looks higher def for a few hours. It's like unlocking a superpower!

Probably hallucinogens affecting serotonin can induce this state but pretty sure you would not be able to control it precisely. Don't know is there are any studies on this though. Otherwise it is that Limitless pill.
