Not in my world (B2B / industrial), unfortunately. CIOs/CTOs in their fifties who need or want a blockchain will go to IBM, who'll set them up on Hyperledger Fabric. They can then claim all the right buzzwords and sleep well at night. They don't know anything about Ethereum nor do they care

You are right about the world outside of this industry. Above I was stuck in our own little bubble here. Many computer systems are not part of the public internet. Many Blockchain use cases will likely follow the same path and not connect to public networks.
