Connecting to French dial-up service ImagiNet on a 14.4/28.8 kbit/s modem circa 1994 (?) and being blown away by how *interactive* everything was, from browsing with NCSA Mosaic (which was like a live version of HyperCard, coming from a Mac!) to seeing people chat in real time on IRC.

I then spent waaayyy too much time on IRC social engineering my way into op status (/mode #channelname +o nickname) so I could take over the channel and mute everyone.
