I swear the LHC experiment forked reality and landed us in the memeverse in 2012 Here’s the former and maybe next POTUS shilling an obscure shitcoin on Ethereum three weeks ahead of an election https://x.com/realdonaldtrump/status/1845179557852377508

I've been asking myself, why? There's no upside to this

Trump (but celebs in general) are looking for ways to monetize their name/ brand/ good will. This can be done with ads, being an „influencer“, etc but in the new world that’s coins. Trump is the final boss in that category and I am pretty sure that timing, risks etc don’t matter. Anything that could help win the election is good. And if there’s money involved on top (that he will also funnel into his pockets) than that’s perfect. Imo the question for him is „why not“, not „why“ and there aren’t a lot of cons in his world.

This is what you're missing in your analysis, coins as you called it is a high risk asset, 90% of coins are heading towards zero, plenty will lose their money and only few will profit. Can you name a celeb that launched a coin and it's still alive in the market??? When ppl lose money they start pointing fingers, no one wants to be at the end of those hands

I wouldn’t discount that a lot of people who get grifted experience shame instead of blaming the person who led them to be grifted. Shame at losing so much money, at putting their family’s savings at risk, etc. They won’t go around saying “I trusted Trump and lost my money on a shitcoin” because it reflects poorly on their judgment, especially so when half of the population who would reply “I told you so” happens to be their political enemies, validating the broader mistake of aligning with a grifter when warned against it. And there will be enough few people who’ll luck out (selling at the top) to claim that it’s a skill issue, not an influencer issue, even though it’s by definition a zero-sum game where people must lose for others to win
