Where do you stand on solipsism? I see it as foundational to virtually everything else (in a first principles kind of way), and yet it is almost universally brushed aside as irrelevant, which I find oddly frustrating. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solipsism

I'm curious why you think its "foundational to everything else"? I was never able to derive much use from it. To me it's a bit like the Simulation Hypothesis. It's cute but has no impact whatsoever on how one should live their life.

And I think that’s the crux of it. Utilitarians will argue that because it impacts nothing, it’s irrelevant. But wouldn’t you *want* to know whether reality exists and isn’t just a figment of our own (and unique) consciousness?

To ask whether reality exists outside of my consciousness presupposes that there is a certainty that "I" exist. I don't think that's a strong enough foundation to ground anything on. I think logic is a stronger foundation.
