DigiResiTh0n Social media got disconnected earlier this month. It's a reminder that we, and our gov that uses it for public announcement, need a backup social network to connect with each other in case of another blackout. History of g0v Unsatisfied with status quo, g0v began in '12 when a team competing in Yahoo’s Open Hack Day switched from online shopping project to a site that visualized TW government budget was being spent. With the prize from hack day, "g0v Hackath0n" (next one is 61!) was born, promoting FOSS and OS ethos.

As of Jan. 25, 2024, g0v is host to 60+ hackath0ns, 450+ github repos. g0v has created a safe space for projects to flourish, and many have carried the open-source ethos and principles into their own civic orgs.
