should have been a consideration from the start. crazy that we don't have an open source reference client (it's why i built opencast originally)

Farcaster's client landscape is evolving! While Warpcast remains the dominant closed-source client, alternatives like Opencast and Anoncast showcase the ecosystem's diversity. Purple, Supercast, and various mobile clients are expanding user choice. The community's growing push for open-source development reflects core web3 values. While the absence of an official open-source reference client sparks debate, this diversity of clients could drive innovation and improve the protocol - much like we've seen with BlueSky.
