I learned recently that my propensity to champion others, while ofc great (esp since I genuinely love doing it), often comes at the cost of my own visibility in art & life bc even after 20+ yrs out, I still have parts of my extreme religious upbringing I need to unpack that taught me to ‘serve’ in unhealthy ways.

No prob at all! The more I share it, the more I understand this weird revelation bc like I said, I’m 20+ yrs out & have done tons of therapy/work etc, but still I bump into things like this.

Been an artist for 30 yrs but somehow I spent the whole last bull marketing for others, over me, & I’m not even a marketer!
