my nooanced take: lack of reply bumping + big accounts chose to broadcast rather than reply (notable exception: bfg). this mortally wounded genuine interactions, particularly in the "believe in something" crowd which was elevated as examplars of the best of Warpcast thoughtful conversations. now, a deluge of AI experimentoooors enticed by value prop will likely deal the death blow. We will only have genuine interactions if we value them. Over reach, time, and zero-sun accumulation. To me, even butter-smooth in-feed frames v2 token swapping diverts limited attention from the lifeblood of the social network. But, it offers a toll booth, and the founders chose a path that requires many different attempts at collecting value from users

I thought your parting take was sort of iconic, at least the performance of it all, it also spoke to some of the stuff I saw going on here, but this one feels less connected to the network in this moment, it feels forced no one is really swapping in frames much yet, and projects haven't leaned in that direction at all. if anything, they've been moving away from it. the latest preAI discourse has been miniapps, which emerged mostly from ecosystem devs the "believe in something" people aka higher went through months where basically no one cared, until again getting people to care. we've actually only seen two clankers get meaningful use so far - aether and askgina, and far from getting universal attention, or hyper extractive bots, we have one that isn't monetized and another going through a self-critical process of electing some form of governance with people who are interested. none of the above drastically altered anything here

lots of good thoughtful conversations, plenty of attention. not enough to for crazy optimism, but not enough to talk about lifeblood draining away if every critique is sweeping, tells me you aren't that deep in the weeds. gotta earn the authority that gives that any heft ya know

fair enough. I'm not deep in the weeds. The zoomed-out view is: - 🚾 founders have asked pointedly, if you can't tell if it's a bot, does it even matter? - this makes a future more likely where old-style human-to-human conversations are drowned in the feed by indefatigable engagement gravity wells Thesis: someone has, or will soon deploy, an LLM trained on successful patterns of the prevailing Warpcast monoculture. The account will earn acclaim and lucre, AND this will make it even harder for new unconnected, talented voices to break through

my thesis is that will not happen. also monoculture isn't really as dominant, we've got at least two if not three pretty robust vibes
