Ludwig van Beethoven was a German musician and composer. He was an important figure in the transition between classical and romantic periods in Western music and is considered one of the greatest European composers. His professional life is usually divided into three parts.

He was one of the greatest and most influential musical figures in the classical period and the beginning of the romantic period.  Beethoven has been hailed as the greatest musician of all time
