#football Several Saudi Arabian clubs are keeping a close eye on Casemiro's situation at Manchester United. The 32-year-old midfielder has seen little playing time since Ruben Amorim took over from Erik ten Hag as United manager in November. He started Monday's win over Newcastle but has played just 27 minutes in his previous five Premier League games. Brazilian online outlet UOL reported that Casemiro agreed to leave United in January and that Public Investment Fund, which owns four Saudi clubs - Al Ittihad, Al Ahli, Al Nasr and Al Hilal - is interested in buying the midfielder. Now journalist Ben Jacobs has shared more information regarding Casemiro's future and the interest in him in the Saudi League. The problem with most Saudi clubs, he says, is that they have used up their quotas for foreign players and would have to part with someone they already have to sign a new one.

Al Ahly, for example, are in the market for a new holding midfielder but to sign Casemiro they would have to sell or de-register one of their nine non-Saudi players. Former Premier League stars currently at Al Ahly include Ivan Toney, Roberto Firmino and Riyad Mahrez. Casemiro could leave Old Trafford in January but former United midfielder Kleberson suggested in November that his compatriot’s form was improving and there could be a place for him in Amorim’s plans. Casemiro is a player who is not afraid of pressure, he can handle it, said Kleberson. "People and the media can criticise him, but he is always himself and always tries to play the way he can play. He scored two goals (against Leicester City), the second one he won in the air and he still has the desire to fight for the next ball."

I think things will get better for him. Every time the season ends we hear that Casemiro should leave United, that he has run his course, that he should go to Saudi Arabia or go back to Brazil, but he can still play. He has a lot to offer United.
