Any suggested alternatives to Slack these days? Any cheaper alternatives with 80% of the benefit?

Also, matrix.org is open source and free, you can host your own or use public servers, it's all encrypted.

It's been a long time that I haven't used Matrix, but last I used it, this was the case.

minor correction here: Matrix isn’t all encrypted. they have an E2EE feature but it’s not default
