Love this story from back when Car forums were more active. American dude orders an E92 M3, opts for European delivery, which means you fly over to Germany to collect the car and bring it around the 'Ring. This guy took 4 years deciding the spec and individual colour (which has to be approved by BMW). On arrival, he finds out his car has been painted the wrong colour. BMW builds him a new car after a bit off hassle. The incorrectly painted car goes viral and sells for a premium on bring a trailer a few years later due to its rarity and backstory. https://jalopnik.com/that-bmw-m3-delivered-in-the-wrong-shade-of-blue-is-for-1846607123
