Ooof, interesting. I've interpreted Jackson's "concept" as yet another useful fiction for understanding sociotechnical systems. However, ref. to hacking makes it clear that it's a very institutionalising, legibilising way to try and parse a software design. The clean concepts get dirtied quick.
