However, after raising over $70 million in the initial sale, the project’s actual artwork was revealed, and it turned out to be shockingly low-quality, especially one character named Kevin—a poorly designed, blocky creature that became an instant meme for its absurd appearance. 📎What made it even more absurd is that despite the disappointment, the “Kevin” NFTs started selling for tens of thousands of dollars on secondary markets, simply due to the viral attention and meme status. It became a symbol of the sometimes irrational hype and speculation in the NFT space.
