What do you reckon the implementation stack is for this?

Looks like some crazy ass <canvas> rendering, but it's a bunch of <div>'s with no apparent <canvas> to be found.

Any ideas anyone?

Love Stripe Press. They are my north star in the publishing world, and the care they put into their work has almost single-handedly renewed my hope for the future of the industry. 

I aspire to work at that level. Someday...
