Your ability to describe your experience increases the richness of it; It's also something that others can benefit from, including your future self, because you will be able to read it later on, remember it, draw it, or just tell someone else about it and savour the memory.

Is the sunset light red or pink - or is it some other colour you don't yet know exists? Is the sky clear or are there clouds - and are they just tufts and wisps, or are they some specific type of cloud? Would you like to know what their names are? I know I would.

I used to want to know the names of everything. Still find it strangely compelling when an author doesn't just say "tree" but rather "piΓ±on pine" or "Eastern red cedar." OTOH "I wish I knew no astronomy when stars appear." β Joseph Brodsky from *A Song*
