For me the point isn't as much about the token *gating* as much as the token *holding*

Yesterday I relaunched gan.gg/designer. Originally this was on gumroad (bit.ly/condensedbook), where I sold about 300 copies

But where are they now? How do I reach them? What version of the book do the have?

Sure, I have their email, but I haven't really been keeping an active newsletter so most probably reactivating it will be difficult

My feeling (and our bet with @gang) is that staying connected with your customers through tokens & w2w chat creates much stronger community and ownership

After all, any type of content can be pirated - courses, ebooks, whatever, you can just download it and send it to anyone else

That's as true for gumroad as it is for gang

But token gating unlocks features that wouldn't be possible without it. 

So... why not?
