I always found this discourse confusing, because this is my alcohol intake: 1 pint of guinness / week (usually on Friday) 1 glass of whiskey / fortnight 1 glass of wine / month More or less, you know. So if you asked me "do you regularly drink alcohol" my answer would have to be "yes", but then my actual intake wouldn't even register on alcohol questionnaires. That's why I equally reject the notion that I should "stop drinking" because, why? I realise I must be in a minority because of my habits, but surely I can't be the only one? https://x.com/levelsio/status/1919455654605160841

yeah was just thinking this today, similar habits here (though mostly cocktails only) not sure why it’s often framed as a binary option (drinker or non-drinker)

I have a very similar small intake to you. 4 months ago my wife and I decided to only have drinks out, none at home. Best decision.

Everyone I know probably drinks about 90% less on average since covid. You can now by THC drinks even at the grocery store here in Minnesota, so I'm sure that has something to do with it also. And just generally aging out of drinking.

there's a chart i saw on instagram last week or so measuring how much beer is being drunk in the us by each generation (iirc), the numbers go wayyyyy down when it gets to like gen z or something. it does seem like alcohol is going out of fashion on some level.
