I want Ethena to succeed and I think they will, but we do need industry standards about what a stablecoin is and USDe is not a stablecoin. Many similar problems in DeFi.

The biggest mistake Starknet made was defending the criteria. So what, you screw up the airdrop? It’s not a huge deal, just say you learned from it and move on.

For ETH exposure I recommend cdETI from Index Coop and CoinDesk Indices. It’s designed to be a mix of USDC & ETH depending on CoinDesk’s ETH trend indicator. Great for reducing volatility and increasing returns. And more importantly you can just buy it and forget about it since it’s completely automated.

Like I said, there are risks but it’s not the worst case scenario is all of Ethereum melting down over night. I just think the comparison to Terra/Luna doesn’t work

Users are opting into rehypothecation though. They may blow up but I don’t see how it is systemic. Again, users will opt in to that. Even if all that ETH gets slashed to zero it shouldn’t impact the Ethereum network itself.

Terra created a stablecoin with backed by an endogenous asset and then promoted a highly unsustainable yield. I'm not sure how they are really in the same ballpark. What do you think is the actual risk here?
