This reminds me of the book “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell and the concept of “The Matthew Effect” the idea that small advantages can snowball into larger ones over time. Era and location of birth is critical

The 90% seems like a plausible way to think about free will. My meditation teacher (app) Sam Harris says there is no free will. What if we have 10% agency?
