The Betrayal of the Abyss In the depths of the oceans, where the sunlight shatters into a thousand ethereal reflections, reigned a queen with silver hair, lover of a powerful king, guardian of the seas. Their kingdom, called Abyssinia, was a place of fragile balance where organic beings and mechanical entities coexisted, creatures forged by ancient magic. At her side, a faithful warrior, Nerysia, half-mermaid, half-machine, served as his right hand and protector. Her flaming hair illuminated the darkness of the abyss while her metallic limbs, forged in the fires of an underwater volcano, inspired fear and respect. Nerysia was a unique creation, sculpted by an ancient blacksmith of the seas to defend the kingdom, and to the queen, she embodied loyalty. Part 3 The Moment of Truth During a great feast in honor of the peaceful seas, Nerysia knew the time had come. She had corrupted a crystal of light that was to adorn the queen’s crown. When she wore it, the magic would reverse the emotions in the king’s heart, causing him to reject his beloved. But something unexpected happened. As the queen prepared to place the crystal on her forehead, she looked into Nerysia’s soft eyes and whispered, “I know how you feel, Nerysia. I have always considered you my sister, and I love you truly. Why betray me?” The words pierced the mermaid’s icy, metallic armor. For the first time in years, Nerysia felt her tears—hot, salty, human—run down her cold cheeks. But before she could react, the crystal activated. The chaos she had sown had turned against her. The kingdom plunged into a black storm, the seas were agitated like never before. Nerysia, carried away by the raging waves, understood then that the price of her jealousy was her own destruction.
