donated spare hygiene products to simplythebasics.org today as part of my decluttering! also met brittany horwich the deputy director, who kindly explained how they help those in need—it’s not just about the 🧼: it’s about building trusted relationships to bridge them to other resources as well. brittany was a case worker for the city who helped individuals and families with accessing resources, so she’s seen how these hygiene products help firsthand. I looked at their list and I love the fact that sunscreen is on it. Many people see it as almost a luxury product, but it is actually a necessity many low income families can’t afford to buy.
