A personal contradiction -- I work in frontier tech (crypto), yet I am skeptical of and slow to adopt most nascent technology It's like the opposite of Gell-Mann Amnesia, where my distrust in one realm (because I know what a shitshow crypto and software in general are) extends to other industries, especially "health" tech

would you say that you personally nail the health basics anyway? Healthy weight Good diet Good sleep Regular exercise both cardio and strength? Etc? Outside of the quantified self (self monitoring, bloodwork etc), which I view as a tool to help with adherence to above healthy habits, I donât believe anyone who hasnât nailed the above needs to be doing much more Deal in dollars not cents BUT This is MY belief I think itâs hubristic to say all health tech has 0 value, or deny smth just because it didnât work for you I respect everyone right to make best choices for themselves And I am grateful for technological advances in pharma etc Medicine has been around a lot longer than computers or crypto

Ya agree with most of that â my foundation is ok, still working on it daily. Better diet, better sleep hygiene and regularity, more Pilates to recover from all the damage from the rippetoe / 5x5 years Imo health is an extension of the body. The body has been around for millennia, medicine / health protocols for centuries, western medicine for decades, and âtechâ medicine for years. I trust them in descending order Again, Iâm not telling anyone what to do. But im vocally anti pharma and western medicine when treating most issues. Just talking my book

I think if you eschew it to a point if I was in charge I would make rules you canât go run to a real doctor if youâve self treated yourself into a mess. You know so much, fix it yourself then EX: all the oncologists who have to deal with âcure cancer naturallyâ crowd. One breast oncologist I saw on X reported 1-2 people a month coming to her with black rotting breasts and metastasized tumors. What used to be only ppl too poor to afford treatment became many more People convinced not to trust medicine In that event, die at home. It is not a doctors job to clean up an esoteric health mess, while you fight them the whole way

I agree, if you opt-out, you shouldn't lean back in when it's convenient (modulo surprise things like acute trauma or broken bones from a car crash) I have zero worries about being totally out lol

I thought we agreed that lawmaking around health is illiberal and gross đ

Well you are the Oreo Nazi trying to tell people what they can and canât do. I simply want to formalize the ability we both have to make our own choices so I can get your risk profile factored in and out of my health insurance cost basis
