I think the FC community is stronger bc it's earnest When you're a small(ish) group, treating interactions with good faith strengthens the group - that's how you grow and become a bigger group, people arrive for the good energy X is world-scale. There's not much growth left, so the vibe is ironic (and hence toxic)

yo this is exactly it. when a population gets big enough, the most mid and palatable content will perform the best bc that’s what the majority finds appealing. low hanging fruit like trolling, shitposting, and mid senses of humour will catch on. whenever I go on X I feel like I’m punished for being earnest and authentic and dare I say…nice? 🥲

Twitter was big for years and it didn't used to be like it is now. It's only been in decline for the last few years when the algorithm maximized more and more for engagement (ie tub-thumping and toxicity), then Elon set the decline to overdrive
