Why is nuclear becoming the energy darling when solar is so clearly better? Solar is already proven to work at a variety of scales, has little-to-no downside, and needs to only become more efficient and ubiquitous.

Renewable energies are not programmable. Its very hard to build consistent nation wide policies relying solely on them. I believe thats why nuclear is so popular, its because it has the best ven diagram of clean and efficient.
