Have you considered a private school for your kids? I've toured a couple schools and everything seems nice and all but part of me is thinking: kids there really miss out on experiencing hardship, which seems to be a core tenant of growing up to be a strong, resilient human.

Adversity comes in all shapes and forms. The main purpose of schools is to provide education. If a private school provides the best education then go with it. I went to a semi-private K through HS and turned out fine. There was always enough adversity in other areas of life.

Also, I heard horror stories about LAUSD from adult survivors, and it’s not an experience required in life. I think most European ppl on the Westside, regardless of income, put their kids into the French school in Culver.
