Those who don’t work in Web3 (or tech in general): How do you balance your day job, family life/hobbies and being active/learning in Web3? The more productive I try to be, the worse I feel compared to the “naturally energetic” ppl. Then fomo kicks in - then exhaustion - then adhd-like symptoms Help🥲

Oh I hear you and yes it may be a struggle! I learned to “combine” some “me”time with web3 time for example I listen to my never ending list of podcasts while running, walking or just out for errands. Then block some time to just enjoy life. Be nice to yourself because what you are doing is amazing! 🤗

I hear you! Me too! Thanks for casting this. I/we are not alone. I ponder on a core belief that show up in new situations 'I am not good enough'. Right now I am torn between going to a hot bath or being here to learn more and engage ! I can't even contemplate trading or investing. But I feel I am getting left behind.

Check out Feel Good Productivity by Ali Abdal, really helped me maximise my productivity. As someone who is Bipolar and also likes to work a lot, productivity and consistency has always been an issue but learning energy management along with time management has helped a lot.

If I'm being honest, I've been struggling a lot since I became proactive in Web3 🥵 I've clearly sacrificed a lot of things on the side (leisure, family life,...), telling myself it's just for a while 🥲. I also try not to compare myself to others, which helps a bit. Courage in any case, a lot of compassion 🫶

I feel like it's a struggle all the way. Also when you work in crypto, depends on work ofc but you still have to balance out something that you do for the company and something that you do for yourself. I'm just trying to allocate hours on everything and prioritise as much as I can

Don’t say ‘yes’ to everything. The intention « to make someone else happy » isn’t a sustainable pursuit in the long run 😇

I don’t, there is always something that is suffering. You need to forgive yourself for the shortcomings of the week, and recalibrate in the next week to devote time to the neglected areas. I’m a mother of (soon to be) 3, wife, friend, daughter, etc. I’m never crushing them all 🫶✨

I struggle with this, too. I work in Web2, am a parent, on a Web3 learning journey for a 2 years, and have a side project. The permaculture idea of stacking functions and trying to identify things that can serve multiple purposes has been helpful. I have tied parts of my learning journey to work goals, for example.

I had to literally make 4 lists of tasks. I try to focus on the 'must do today' and my daily practices of guitar and drawing. The other things can wait, I have them in the lists and check when I feel like I have extra time. - today + practice - some day - cryptoart - videos

I'm just juggling with everything and putting first what gives me peace at the moment... these days i've be unactive because I had to put work things first. Just don't feel guilty for not doing everything at once. It's impossible "just keep swimming" 🐠✨

I think it never can be balance We pay more to one thing, then pay less to stg else, and our mind and brain is like this, as in life if we pay attention to a numbers of items, we can just be a usuall person in them

Even working in web3, I find it hard to maintain a balance. Most of my time is spent on the project, need to carve out time to go beyond the bubble too. I’ve been finding it helpful to block out times in my calendar for learning, workouts & fun stuff. And good to recognise the effort you’re already putting in 🙌

balance LOL honestly more than anything i’d be forgiving of yourself and more or less expecting to be behind in most things. then when it inevitably happens you’re less self-critical people in crypto FT can’t even keep up with everything that’s happening so how tf could a normal person expect to

I can totally relate to that! And I find it very brave of you to share it here so openly, cause a lot of places on social media are just about what one has achieved and how great everything is! There are days when I feel I don't know anything & I feel incapable. Everything feels like a big fight, esp against myself.
