feedback is very useful and Im happy to get it whichever way :). I‘m aware threads are not ideal as I‘ve run into a bunch of issues myself with them as well, but its good to know what to prioritize - theyre on my list. 

Any thread UX apps you like or more specific problem you are having with them would be helpful

Sure! Rn, reading what the OP is trying to say requires digging 👎. This is no problem on Reddit, Twitter, 4chan, facebook. Encourage ~250 chars but don't force it. i.e.
* force start-with-summary (e.g. Twitter does it by only showing first tweet + "show thread" on timelines)
* easily allow to write + read full messa

Ya just looked at Reddit. Same story. Their titles are exactly what first-of-thread tweets are. Allow the OP to say more but limit the screen real-estate they get to force them to compress information before letting them expand. If you want virality, force them to chunk their expansion also a la Twitter.

Same goes for replies. Although much less important. Perhaps Twitter-style, make it hard to reply >250 chars is right.
As a bonus Twitter allows replying to bits of threads. So you can start conversations based on thread sub-topics. Much less important I think. Could be left out entirely.
